Summary:

This article describes how to properly set up and use the Online Backup Feature in BitDefender Total Security with Online Backup.

Detailed description:

The Online Backup feature will allow you to store information between 2 Gb and 15 Gb, depending on your license key, on our servers. In order to access the Online Backup you will first need to have an account created on our website. Then, open BitDefender and go to the Advanced View. Here you will need to click on the Backup module. In the right handside you will see the Online Backup button which you will need to choose. The configuration wizzard will appear. In the first step you will be able to choose exactly which files from your disk you want to upload.

The size limit is displayed in the bottom part of the window. At the next step you will be able to change the settings for the scheduled jobs. The backup can be used even when no Windows users are logged on, but the PC is turned on.

Th the third step you will be able to select the network bandwidth and also to send notification emails to you after a scheduled backup is done.

The fourth step will be a summary of the backup that is about to run.

After clicking the Finish button the backup will start. You can Pause, Hide or Cancel it at any moment. The backup window can be closed automatically after it is done by adding a checkmark under Options.

Online Recovery

The Online Recovery can be accessed from the Backup tab in the Advanced View. In the first step of the recovery you will be able to choose the dimensions of the files you want to restore and the date up to which you want it to search for the files. The next step will show a list of all the files that match the criteria you entered at the first steps. You can select the files you want to restore and then click the Next button to proceed to the third step. Here you can set the default location to save the files, a new location or both. The final step shows the status of the Recovery. At the end you can click the Close button and then access the files that were copied on the PC.
