NEW! MTA Integration System
BitDefender Mail Protection for Enterprises offers a wide range of options when it comes to integration with your preferred Mail Transfer Agent. Special agents are provided for several of the most popular mail transfer agents (these include Sendmail, Courier, qmail and CommuniGate Pro). If your MTA is Dmail, Exim or others, don't worry, of all the BitDefender Mail Protection for Enterprises agents, the SMTP proxy stands out as the most feature-full. It gives you access to features such as connection count limiting, trusted networks and relay domain limitations. Furthermore, the proxy has the added advantage of being able to integrate with virtually any MTA for which a dedicated agents is not provided (like Exim, Dmail if ran from a different machine).


NEW! User and Group Management
The User and Group Management module was designed to provide scalable and flexible protection for large companies and also allow ISPs to offer added value to priced customers. Besides a generic set of rules that applies to all the mail traffic, the administrators will have the possibility to configure different antivirus and antispam actions for groups of users. By design a “default” holds the global settings for all the users and all groups created afterwards will inherit its rules.


Highly Efficient Antispam Filters
The new and improved BitDefender Antispam technology employs remarkable technological innovations and industry standard antispam filters to weed out spam before it reaches the user’s Inbox.
For antispam filters, performance means high detection rates and very few “false positives”. That's why BitDefender has 7 powerful filters packed together. A central “dispatcher” analyzes each message on-the-fly and decides what filters must be employed according to each message's characteristics. When the dispatcher has built enough confidence, it labels the message as spam, phishing or legitimate.


WBL (white/black list) Support
This quite simply means that the administrator can set a list of trusted and untrusted addresses from which to respectively “always accept” or “always tag as spam” mail.


Proactive Phishing Detection
Phishing is the most dangerous type of spam, and phishers (the villains who use these scams) go to great lengths to cover their tracks and make sure that their messages look as authentic as possible, fooling as many users as possible. And that’s where anti-phishing technology comes in: it detects their attempt to copy the “look and feel”, the disguises, the forgeries and the attempts to fool the user.


Neural Network Analysis
BitDefender Labs have created a powerful filter which uses a Neural Network (a concept borrowed from the field of Artificial Intelligence) to deal with the millions of new spam messages which are sent every day. The Neural Network (NNet) is that pre-trained in the Antispam Labs, by allowing it to look at a lot of spam messages. In case your MTA is something different (like Exim or Dmail) or you simply want to have the filtering in a remote location separate from your running Mail Server, the SMTP proxy agent will fulfill the most exigent demands
