JOB DESCRIPTION: A virus analyst disassembles and analyzes new viruses in order to understand the way they function and spread. An analyst extract a signature, a definition that it is incorporated in products and it is used to protect the BitDefender users.
JOB RESPONSABILITIES:
- Disassembling and rolling of malware in controlled environment in order to spread it, to realize the detailed technical analyses, to extract the signature used in detection, to generate the code / signature used to clean the infected files
- Realizing internal tools and generic detection routines (detecting new viruses appeared in a family by analyzing initial variants)
- Collaboration with technical support to solve the problems of BitDefender clients after infecting with new viruses
- Verifying the files send to analyze on different channels (virus_submision, gold clients, quarantine)
- Analyzing the evolution of viruses and studying new platforms / languages (AMD64 / IA64 / ARM.) in order to foresee and prevent informatics threats
REQUESTS:
- good knowledge of ASM x86
- good knowledge of C/C++
- good knowledge of a scripting language (Perl, Python)
