Brand and Communications Director



Position Overview:
In this newly created position, you will play a senior leadership role in defining and developing the BitDefender brand identity and promise and communicating it globally through offline and online media and communication channels. The Brand Marketing Director is a global marketing leader managing BitDefender's 8 person internal marketing agency as well as external agency relationships and resources. As part of the BitDefender Global Marketing team, this position reports to the Global Marketing Director in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the marketing communications and branding functions globally
  • Partner with marketing leadership team to develop the master BitDefender brand identity, strategy, positioning, and style and specifically help drive effective implementation of that strategy through all advertising and customer communications.
  • Create and communicate a global brand and style guide and ensure compliance with brand/communication guidelines and brand identity requirements
  • Exercise complete responsibility for all advertising activities and functions for BitDefender, developing and directing advertising and marketing communications programs and strategies to maximize sales objectives.
  • Remotely supervise the management of an 8 person internal marketing agency located at the company's headquarters in Bucharest, Romania as well as external agency relationships and resources located in the US.
  • Manage cost effective and consistent development of positioning/messaging including collateral, advertising, public affairs, conferences, events and web communications, etc.
  • Develop the annual marketing communication plan and budget in support of BitDefender's overall business and marketing strategy
  • Partner with Regional Marketing Managers and the Director of Online Marketing to develop and maintain a holistic view of offline and online campaign activity; identifying opportunities for media integration and greater campaign cohesion wherever possible.
  • Help manage the selection and/or development of tools and processes that best enable two-way sharing of marketing plans, campaigns, successes, best practices, and insights across marketing teams both domestically and internationally (in partnership with the Director of Marketing Programs)
  • Create appropriate metrics and text/evaluate communication effectiveness


Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:
  • 7+ years marketing management, strategy, and operations experience - including at least 3 years in an interactive/online industry or capacity, preferably for a consumer software or IT solutions vendor
  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing strategy and the marketing planning process
  • -Agency experience - or client-side agency management experience - is also highly desirable
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships and establish a high level of credibility across functional and field organizations and to operate effectively in a fluid, matrix'd environment; to build strong, trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and agency partners
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Skilled in obtaining buy-in for ideas and driving implementation within a multi-functional organization
  • Excellent team and project management skills
  • This individual must possess leadership skills and an executive presence Ability to work effectively with people from different regions and cultural backgrounds
  • -Ability to travel several times a year for company meetings ( approx 15%) within the US and Europe
  • MBA a plus, but not required
