How to Set Up Scam Protection Pro on Windows

Step 1: Open Scam Protection Pro

  1. Open Bitdefender Total Security.
  2. On the main dashboard, either:
    • Click on Scam Protection Pro directly, or

    • Click on Protection on the left side menu, then open the Scam Protection Pro pane.

 

Step 2: Get Started

  1. Click the Set up Scam Protection Pro button on the overview screen.

Step 3: Set up Scam Protection Pro

You will see which Scam Protection Pro features are already enabled and be guided to configure those that need extra steps. Follow the on-screen instructions to grant the required permissions:

 

Web Scam Protection

  1. Enable Web Scam Protection if it’s disabled.
  2. Choose Yes when prompted to enable online scam protection.

  1. Click the Enable button to receive notifications about emerging scam campaigns in your region.

Web Email Protection

Includes Email Protection for Gmail and Outlook accounts accessed in a web browser.

    1. If Web Email Protection is disabled, click the Add email account button.
    2. Choose your email provider (Google or Outlook).
    3. Sign in with your Google or Outlook email account.
    4. Allow Bitdefender to scan your mailbox.

Local Email Protection

Includes Antispam for Outlook and Thunderbird email apps, along with the Online Threat Prevention switch for local email protection.

    1. Enable Local Email Protection if it’s disabled.
    2. Choose Yes when prompted to enable local email protection.

Step 4: Finish Setup

Once all Scam Protection Pro components are enabled, you can close the setup window.
