If you recently purchased a Bitdefender product, you might receive an email that says:
We gladly inform you that your Bitdefender subscription has been automatically activated and associated with your Bitdefender Central account.

Automatic activation occurs for certain purchases made through the official Bitdefender website and processed by the authorized vendor 2Checkout (now part of Verifone).
How Automatic Activation Works
When you purchase a Bitdefender product from the official website, the subscription is activated immediately after the payment is completed. The subscription is automatically linked to your Bitdefender Central account, so there is no need to manually enter an activation code.
Automatic activation is available only for existing customers who meet these conditions:
- You have previously purchased Bitdefender from the official website.
- You have already activated a subscription in the same Bitdefender Central account.
- Your previous Bitdefender subscription is still active.
What Happens to Your Existing Subscription?
The result depends on the product you purchased:
- If the new purchase matches your existing product and device count
(for example, another Bitdefender Total Security – Individual subscription for 5 devices), your current subscription will be extended automatically. - If the product or number of devices is different, the new subscription will be added alongside the existing one in your account.
How to Confirm the Subscription Was Activated
When automatic activation occurs, you will receive a confirmation email informing you that the new subscription has been linked to your Bitdefender Central account.
You do not need to use the activation code from your purchase confirmation or attempt to activate the product manually. The subscription is already active.
To check your subscriptions:
- Sign in to Bitdefender Central at https://central.bitdefender.com/
- In the left-hand menu, click on My Subscriptions.
- You will see all active subscriptions associated with your account.
Do You Need to Reinstall Bitdefender?
No. If Bitdefender is already installed on your devices, you do not need to reinstall it.
The installed applications automatically sync with your Bitdefender Central account and will update to reflect the new subscription validity.
