How to add and manage bookmarks in Bitdefender Safepay

If you want to quickly revisit a site later, you can bookmark it in Safepay.

1. Open Safepay: bring up the Bitdefender interface and access the Safepay panel.

Or do a quick search: in the search box on the taskbar type safepay . Or press the Windows   key on your keyboard and start typing safepay. Then hit Enter on your keyboard to launch Bitdefender Safepay.

 

2. Navigate to the page you want to add as a bookmark.

 

3. Select ☆ on the address bar.

 

4. Click Create. You will see the website added to the Bookmarks list.

NOTE: Check the “Automatically open in Safepay” box if you want the bookmarked page to open with Safepay each time you access it from another web browser.

You can also create a bookmark directly from the Bookmarks menu: click the plus (+) panel, enter the name of the website (e.g. Bitdefender), and the URL of the website (e.g. www.bitdefender.com). Then click Create.

2. Click the menu ••• (three dots) next to the address bar.

 

3. Choose Bookmarks.

 

4. In the Bookmarks list hover the mouse cursor over the bookmark you want to modify, then click the pencil icon that appears in the top right corner.

 

5. Choose Edit from the menu to change a bookmark.

 

6. Press Save after making the changes.

2. Click the Settings menu ••• (three dots) next to the address bar.

 

3. Choose Bookmarks.

 

4. In the Bookmarks list hover the mouse cursor over the bookmark you want to remove, then click the pencil icon that appears in the top right corner.

 

5. Choose Delete from the menu to remove a bookmark. The bookmark will be eliminated from the Bookmarks list.

All Safepay bookmarks are stored in C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Security App\Safepay\ProfilesData\OBK\<Username>\BankingUrls.xml

• Each Windows user account has its own <Username> folder and a different BankingUrls.xml file.
• You can back up this file by copying it into another folder from your computer (e.g. on the Desktop). After installing a fresh copy of Bitdefender you will be able to import the Safepay bookmarks by replacing the file BankingUrls.xml with the one you have on the Desktop. This procedure only applies to Safepay bookmarks, not other browsers.

Keep in mind that all the Bitdefender files are protected against any modification when Windows is running normally. This means that you need to replace the file in Safe Mode.

 

Below are step-by-step instructions to help you manually export and import your Safepay bookmarks.

 

How to Export Safepay bookmarks

1. Open the folder

C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Security App\Safepay\ProfilesData\OBK\<Username>

• Note: <Username> stands for your actual Windows account name. In the image below, the username is John.

 

2. Copy the file named BankingUrls and paste it inside another folder from your PC in order to export it.

 

 

How to Import Safepay bookmarks

1. Restart Windows in Safe Mode. To learn how to enter Safe Mode, refer to this article.

 

2. In Safe Mode, copy the BankingUrls file previously exported.

 

3. Then paste or drag & drop the file BankingUrls inside the folder

C:\Program Files\Bitdefender\Bitdefender Security App\Safepay\ProfilesData\OBK\<Username>

• Note: <Username> stands for your actual Windows account name. In the image below, the username is John.

 

4. Choose Continue if prompted.

If you are signed in with a standard Windows account, you may be required to enter an administrator name and password to allow the change.

 

5. Restart Windows normally after placing the BankingUrls file in the folder mentioned above.

Your exported bookmarks have been imported back into Safepay.
