Countries Where Bitdefender VPN Is Restricted, Unavailable, or Blocked

When you try to use Bitdefender VPN, you may see the following warning:

VPN applications are currently restricted in your region. Some countries apply restrictive VPN usage regulations. Considering the usage of a VPN service is sanctionable, make sure you comply with local regulations.

Countries Where VPNs Are Banned or Restricted

We want to provide our VPN service to everyone. Sadly, there are places where VPNs are illegal, banned or blocked. For your protection, Bitdefender VPN is restricted in the following countries because local laws or regulations limit VPN use:

What to Do When You See This Message

Message: VPN is restricted in your region The Bitdefender VPN app can help you get around restrictions or firewalls set by governments. But in a few countries, using the VPN feature to bypass these restrictions might be against the law. To respect local regulations, Bitdefender has made it so the VPN feature doesn’t work in these countries. When you try to use Bitdefender VPN in a country with strict rules against VPNs, you’ll see a notification that looks like the one in this picture.

You have two options:

  • Cancel. Press Cancel or close the Bitdefender VPN app. The VPN remains disconnected and will start working again as soon as you leave the restricted location.
  • Continue Anyway. If this option is available, choose Continue Anyway to proceed with the connection. Only do so if you have confirmed that VPN use is permitted under the laws and regulations that apply to you. Penalties for non-compliance may include fines or other legal consequences.

ⓘ Note: On iPhone and iPad in China, Continue Anyway is unavailable due to Apple policy. Press Retry to check whether you are still in a restricted location. The VPN can connect only when you are no longer in that location.
